Information Law
Concern in relation to the increased use of technology to capture and process information about living individuals has forced data protection law into the media spotlight and simultaneously up the compliance agenda for businesses and the public sector. We advise clients on both a strategic and case specific basis, typically in connection with issues such as employee and customer data collection and use, employee monitoring (including internet use and email monitoring), the use of CCTV, data sharing with external organisations and individual subject access requests.
We also have a leading freedom of information practice, advising Scottish public authorities on the extent of their obligations to publish information routinely and in response to specific requests and assisting private sector organisations in understanding the implications of freedom of information for them.
