Competition
Brodies has a significant practice covering EU and UK competition and regulatory law on issues such as cartels, restrictive agreements and the abuse of dominant positions, as well as the competition and regulatory aspects of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. We also assist businesses with advice on competition issues arising from commercial agreements, including licensing, franchising, supply and distribution arrangements.
We have supported clients who have been the subject of OFT and Competition Commission investigations.
We have outstanding experience in advising on competition issues affecting the public sector including state aid, public procurement and sectoral regulation. Our clients value the practical approach we are able to bring to advising on EU and UK competition law.
Partners Roger Cotton and Christine O'Neill were recently commissioned by the Scottish Government to provide training on the new Remedies Directive to procurement specialists across the Scottish public sector while Charles Livingstone is regularly instructed in public procurement litigation.
