Administration

We have experience of advising clients on issues arising from English administrations – there are very few Scottish administrations.

Receivership

We know our way around receiverships. Although not as fashionable as they were in the last recession, receiverships are still used where banks have not achieved a turnaround of a business or where a deal has to be done and a receiver is required to put it through.

Liquidation

Arising through the company itself or at the instance of a creditor, in liquidations we advise directors on their duties as directors and under the Company Directors Disqualification Act. We also regularly act for insolvency practitioners.

In administration, receivership and liquidation, our corporate and banking teams provide support in non-contentious areas. We can also call upon our employment and commercial property teams to provide an all round service in any disposals or restructuring.

Sequestration

We advise clients and insolvency practitioners in relation to personal insolvency. We cover all aspects including gratuitous alienations and fraudulent preferences.

Debt Recovery

We have a computerised debt recovery system and collect debts for clients. Once cases become defended they are passed to a solicitor.
