Summer Placements
Where better than a summer placement at Brodies to give you hands on experience of working in a commercial law firm!
A summer placement at Brodies is an excellent opportunity for you to experience the inner workings of our firm. It will allow you a greater understanding of our business, our values, our culture and our people. It will also give you the opportunity to experience, first hand, the quality of our work and the range of top quality clients that we act on behalf of.
Many students look upon summer placement schemes as the ideal opportunity to "test-drive" a number of firms that they are considering applying to for a traineeship. We understand this and we also understand that deciding where to train is a big decision so we've designed our summer placement scheme with this in mind.
Our summer placement programme gives you a chance to spend time in one of our market leading departments. You will be given the opportunity to become involved in quality work, legal research and gain exposure to great expertise.
We believe that it is important for you to get a realistic picture of life at Brodies and as a result we will set up a number of opportunities to network with some of our current trainees. During your placement you will be based in one department. However, we also want you to hear about all of our different departments and the different work that they do. You will get the chance to do this at the "lunch and learn" sessions and there you can gain a broader exposure to the business.
We want you to get the best out of your summer placement which is why we will assign you a mentor within your department. They will be on hand to guide you through the placement, answer your questions and assist you with key tasks. As part of your placement your mentor will set a research project. This will help you use some of the skills you have already learned at University as well as provide us with some beneficial legal knowledge!
